A Trip to Angaur - WOW!Posted by shauna in Things to do in Palau, Life in Palau |

Just returned from a great trip to Angaur! Could be my favorite island so far here in Palau - peaceful, beautiful, relaxing...

We hopped on this state boat/barge on Friday afternoon, expecting to return on Sunday, but after the 4 hour trip, we found out that the boat was rescheduled and not due to return until Monday...

So, with an extra day to explore, we took our time and rode bikes around the island. Stopping along the way to experience all there is to see in Angaur.

The ride itself was wonderful and cool. The trees covering the roads made it very nice for a bike ride. We stopped along the way and watched blowholes for quite a while.

Enjoyed the crashing waves along the shore and watching the water come up over the rocks.

We found some trees that reminded us of Lost... So, we hid from the Polar Bears there..

We were lucky enough to see a whole troop of these macaques... great fun to sit and watch.

And then on the ride home, the weather cooperated and gave us great views...

Next time you're in Angaur, there are a few people you'll want to look up. First, Gino - he has a guesthouse, bar and store. (but bring your own food unless you like canned food as there are no restaurants here and the stores are called stores, but they don't carry much). And look up the Survivor crew that stays in Leon's guesthouse. They'll take you out surfing and you will just have a great time hearing all their stories! We saw some great, behind-the-scenes pics from Survivor Gabon!
